Camping the trash out project brings together young artists (scenographers, stage architects, applied artists, etc.) and young researchers (sociologists, anthropologists, andragogues, political scientists, culturologists, communicators, etc.) with the aim of creating an interactive, pop up exhibition as a forum for discussion different social themes.
ON THE TOPIC
“Many things exist and have no name; many things, even when they have a name, have never actually been described. One such thing is sensibility - unmistakably modern, as a kind of sophistication, which can hardly be called sophistication - and which exists under the cult name, "camp". - With these words, Susan Sontag describes the phenomenon of the camp as early as 1966.
We can agree that this description of the camp remains relevant today, as the camp is considered by authors from Andy Warhol, Oscar Wilde, but also Lana del Rey, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Dolly Parton, and even popular mimes and "shitposting". 'pages. It is not unusual that the Versailles fashion of overemphasized court clothing combinations is also considered a camp.
Many will debate what is really a camp and what is not, but at the end of the day it is clear that we are all at least a little intrigued by this phenomenon and that many fans of different subcultures gather around such and similar content. Exaggeration, intrusiveness, excessive glamor are just some of the words used to describe this phenomenon. Due to the frequent mixing of camp with kitsch and cherry as related terms, more will be said about these topics within the project.
In the words of Philip Cora, "The camp is a lie that tells the truth", and indeed many topics of social issues were raised and extended in the field of camps (the position of women, the state of society and economy, issues of gender and identity). That is why the camp was chosen as the central integrative factor of the pilot exhibition of the Museum of Popular and Subcultures.
ABOUT THE METHOD
By organizing exhibitions in KC Magacin and Ciglana (as part of the Dev9t festival) entitled "Find a camp in yourself ...!?" ) we aimed at gathering interested participants around interactive content to discuss various social topics. As online entertainment content (meme pages, "shitposting", login) is increasingly becoming a firecracker of various current social topics, in a similar way we we wanted to gather people in a relaxed atmosphere in an offline environment so that they could compare and discuss the similarities and differences of their views. We achieved this through curatorial guides and interesting workshops on the topic of aesthetics, social issues, film and creative-workshop handicrafts.
We believe in the richness of opinions and diversity of topics, and we believe that there is no single "right" position on a topic. On the other hand, we strictly reject provocations, indoctrination and aggressive imposition of attitudes as a means of communication. Argumentation is always welcome!
We inherit our overall creative and research experience through the final publication of the research papers of young researchers and the final semi-documentary film on the topic of the camp and our experience with the topic.
